The streets in London’s Kensington and Chelsea district have the most expensive U.K. properties with sterling’s slide helping to lure buyers to an area where the average cost of a house exceeds 1 million pounds ($1.6 million).
Wycombe Square, where property values have averaged 5.4 million pounds over the past four years, tops the list, Lloyds Banking Group Plc’s Halifax division said today. The top 10 streets are all in London with seven in Kensington and Chelsea.

Kensington and Chelsea Rated Exceptional By Comprehensive Area Assessment

Londons Million Pound Property
Almost 26,500 properties have been sold in London for more than £1 million in the past 15 years, a new study reveals today.
This is 61 per cent of the national total of 43,400 million-plus sales and signifies the degree to which the world's wealthiest people are attracted to the capital
Sales of properties costing at least £2 million totalled 7,774 since 1995 with 78 per cent of them in London. A third of them all - 2,517 - were in Kensington and Chelsea.
Of the 64 properties that have been sold for more than £10 million, all but six were in Greater London. In one street alone, one man - billionaire Lakshmi Mittal - has bought three properties for prices from £67 million to £117 million.
HSBC said: "Foreign buyers make up a large majority of all property purchases in these prime London locations."

Kensington Has the Highest Propertion of Million Pound Homes
Millionaires rows have been hit hard by the effects of the credit crunch, with buyers unwilling to pay huge sums for the country's most exclusive properties, according to new figures.
While one in every 97 properties was worth at least seven figures in November 2007 when house prices first started to slip, that figure has now fallen to just one in 150.
Unsurprisingly, London has seen the smallest reduction in the number of properties valued at £1 million or more, with 29 per cent fewer now than two years ago.
Kensington in London has the highest proportion of seven figure homes, with 48 per cent of the housing stock in the area valued at this level, followed by South Kensington at 39 per cent and and Chelsea at 37 per cent.

London has Highest Concentration of Graduates
New research into the diversity of UK graduates has shown that London has the highest proportion of people with access to university education.
Carried out by the University and Colleges Union (UCU), the report placed seven London boroughs, including Richmond Park, Kensington & Chelsea and Hampstead & Highgate, in its top ten regions for residents with degrees.
The organisation said that the figures reveal a gap between the north and south of the country when comparing the opportunities available to gain a university education and a graduate job.
